I had a Dane with 17 puppies. She had a belly at 25 days and by the time she whelped she looked like she swallowed a house. Every other bitch looks small to me after seeing her. But Lizard certainly looks like she’s got a lovely bunch of babies in there .
Nine sounds like the right number. I so hope they are healthy, reasonably sized, and she free whelps. In keeping with the lavender box de whelp, there could be mostly girls!
OMG. No wonder you guys thought Kayla only had 6. I think Kayla is just a really long girl and tucked a couple up in her “armpits.”
And yes, I hope Lizzie freewhelps. Sure the money has an “ouch” factor but I was so scared for Kayla that whole time, hours and hours, at the vet just waiting and feeding the puppies already out.
Holy cow! Somebody help that poor dog. I think she’s fallen and she can’t get up. Belly rubs to poor Lizzie. Here’s to hoping for a smooth free whelp. Can’t wait to see the beautiful babies.
We wish our favorite Lizzard and easy whelping and I hope she is like Lindy (the Heidi Klum of Cardis) and she pops those babies out and gets her figure back asap.

Hi! I’m Jeri Lamy…wife to Dave, mom to Charlie (b. 2004) and Jack (b. 2007). One of my hobbies over the years has been dog shows, both conformation and agility, and we fell in love with the Cardigan Welsh Corgi many years ago when our first, Brady, joined our house. We have a limited number of dogs and they are our house pets (my current limit is 3…someone remind me to change this if I ever talk myself and Dave into a 4th, m’kay?)…my dogs are my hobby, not my livelihood. I recently raised my first litter after 10 years of involvement in the breed and much careful planning.

If they’re born on Friday they’ll share a birthday with grandma Alice. She’ll be 9 on the 12th.
Maybe there are 9 puppies . . .
(Though it still looks like more in spite of the x-rays.)

Poor Lizzard! I showed Emmie the picture and she just looked at me & Della and growled. Della couldn’t understand why her momma would be irritated.

In my head, the look she’s giving me is something along the lines of, “I TRIED to avoid this, now don’t you feel bad??”
