“Lizard, Lulu, Love Hound”
Lizzie was born 7/25/06 and came to us all the way from Washington state. I’m so grateful to her breeders Dixie Rae, Sue Stockslager, and Shirley Hobbs for letting us sneak off with this exciting girl. I have long been an admirer of her beautiful group and National Specialty winning mother, CH Grangefield Aberdovey Lymric, and her lovely sire, CH Shadowalk Phi-V Alexander (RWD at ’03 National). Lizzie’s call name is inspired from poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning.
Lizzie finished her AKC Championship in grand style, being awarded Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite Sex over specials at the Bluebonnet Regional Specialty in 2008. She finished while attending almost nothing but supported entries and specialties, including placing first in her class (9-12 mo bitches) at the 2007 National, and fourth in her class (open) at the 2008 National. Her lovely breed type garnered her some very nice recognition from other breeders and owners, and wins from breeder judges…even completely out of coat!
Lizzie’s true mark in the Cardigan world, however, may well come through her lovely children. In 2009 Lizzie was bred for her first litter to the very handsome BISS GCh C-Myste Baledwr Free to Disagree…you can find out more about them on the Charm Litter page. Out of the 9 puppies in that litter, she has 3 Grand champion children, 1 other champion, 1 agility titled dog, and 1 that is a service dog for her owners. Our keeper boy from that litter, Nash, is a multiple regional specialty winner, multiple group winner and group placer, and was a top 5 special in 2013 and #1 male Cardigan in 2014. Lizzie qualified for her Bronze level ROM award with her first litter alone. For her 2nd litter in 2012, Lizzie was bred to the lovely blue merle GCh C-Myste Baledwr Whomping Willow. Those 9 puppies are still growing up, but 2 are finished champions…see our keeper Violet.
After her 2nd litter, Lizzie went back to one of her breeders to have one final litter, and live out her retirement on her beautiful acreage. Even though she doesn’t live with us any longer, a big piece of our heart will always belong to Miss Lizzie, so her page stays! We love you Lulu!
