“Baby Vi, Princess, Insufferable Sock Stealer”
Violet is the puppy I wasn’t supposed to get, but just couldn’t resist. I think all of us in the dog show world (and some outside of it) have a dog like this at some point…the one we couldn’t resist! My friends Carolyn Cannon, Mandy Katasse, and Megan Hanselman leased Lizzie from me to mate to a lovely boy of their breeding, Captain (GCh C-Myste Baledwr Whomping Willow). I swore many times that I was not going to get a puppy from the litter, but when I went out to help evaluate the litter at 8 weeks, I simply fell in love with this little cutie. The combination of her sweet, sweet personality, her type, and her show promise proved to be too much for me to resist and I began to work out how she could come to my house! Thankfully, she grew up to be everything I hoped! Baby Vi made her show debut at the National Specialty in Tucson, AZ. I was thrilled when she was awarded 4th in her huge sweepstakes class, and made the cut to the top 7 in the regular class! She went on to pick up her first point a couple weeks afterwards at her first regular shows.
At the end of 2013, I was so pleased when she was Reserve to two 5-point majors at the Three Trails Regional Specialty weekend. After sitting minored out for a while, I decided to trek up to the supported entry at the Amana cluster in Iowa, and was rewarded with two lovely 4 point majors, including the supported entry! Those wins finished Violet’s championship quite nicely.
Violet had two beautiful litters and then was spayed and found a wonderful forever home working as a therapy & emotional support dog. Our keeper from her first litter was Rufio. My friend Jessica Viera of Grandiose Cardigans has the keeper from her second litter, Aine. I adore and miss this little girl in my household and am so happy to have her sweet son living with me!
